Along with 40 other artists, my home studio will be open Saturday and Sunday, May 17 & 18 from 11 AM until 5 PM. All are welcome to come see my creations. I will have new paintings and mixed-media constructions on exhibit and for sale. I will have an ongoing “hands-on” printmaking opportunity for anyone who wants to create their own art…and take it with you…for FREE! If you attend, you will also be able to enter the drawing for one of my pieces.
Get more information and see a preview of the art work on display at the home studios at the Mt. Tabor Art Walk Web site. You can also download a pdf map from there. I will also have maps available. I am location #20 on the map. Hope to see you!

I spent some time in Mazatlan, Mexico over New Years. The climate was definitely warmer, and the relaxing time was a welcome respite from the usual.
The small fishing village north of Mazatlan uses these boats to get the “daily catch:”
The downtown residential zone has a distinctly Colonial appearance:

It began lightly snowing about Noon today, big flakes that did not stay on the ground, that added a white, surreal element to a beautiful day. Here are a couple of photos from a walk we took up on Mt. Tabor:

Using recycled materials in my art, whenever possible, is a MUST. Here is a wreath I created for a local restaurant (Sub Rosa) that is created from old cat and other food tin cans. Just call me the “Tinman.”
Have a Wonderful Solstice and Holiday!
This tin wreath is 27 inches across, and constructed from tin cans, using pop-rivets to hold it all together. This wreath will be on display over the Holiday Season at Sub Rosa Restaurant, on the Northeast corner of SE Clinton and 26th Avenues, here in Portland, Oregon.
Here is the wreath as it hangs in the Sub Rosa Restaurant…

Trond Williams, longtime Portlander, is now living in WashDC, but returns every now and then to check up on things. Here he is, in his Office niche at the Lucky Lab Pub in SE on Hawthorne. A bunch of his friends and co-thinkers met up at the Lucky Lab today to talk about how business was going. Trond intends to return to Portland, to take full charge of his Office in a couple of years. We wish him a speedy return.

Last weekend (October 13 & 14) I had the incredible opportunity to stay in one of the original cabins in Cannon Beach.
The weather was perfect, and the cabin was charming.
Coffee on the beach in the mornings…
and spectacular sunsets
Also had the great opportunity to meet a writer, Spike Walker, who was in a nearby cabin practicing his trade. Here he is, holding a copy of his 2001 Coming Back Alive. Spike has been seen on the Discovery Channel Deadliest Catch TV show.
