Today: Pendleton, Oregon
I am in Pendleton to see what the art show opportunities are, and to learn more about this rich area, home of the annual Pendleton Roundup (September 12-15, 2007). Here is a photo looking south on Main Street, with the Pendleton Center for the Arts shown at left. They converted an old Carnegie Library building into a very nice exhibit, workshop, and sales space.
Lillian Pitt has a beautiful show there through August 30, 2007.
Another great attraction is Hamley & Co., that began making custom saddles in 1883, and has been in Pendleton since 1905. If you are looking for Cowboy and Cowgirl wear, saddles, boots, and fine ridin’ goods, this is the place. They also have a great steak house.
Later today we will do the Pendleton Underground Tour.
